About the facility
The clinic is located in the Municipal Hospital at 3 Zegadłowicza Street in Sosnowiec (entrances B and C). Reception/Clinic is on the ground floor, next to the Gynaecology A&E.
We provide services in the field of diagnostic imaging.
The department is equipped with a 64-slice, 128-layer Siemens CT scanner from 2014 and a GE Signa Voyager 1.5 T MRI scanner manufactured in 2021. Scans carried out on our scanner are up to half as fast, whilst remaining highly precise. The tunnel diameter is 70 cm and the machine has a weight capacity of up to 250 kg. The noise level of the scanner has also been reduced, as this can cause discomfort during the scan. In addition, we offer patients special headphones playing relaxing music, and there is a screen above their head displaying a view of the sky, which can be soothing for those who feel uncomfortable in enclosed spaces.
We carry out commercial research and research under contract with the National Health Fund.
We specialise in the diagnosis of disorders of the nervous and musculoskeletal systems, including spinal conditions, as well as diseases of the respiratory and digestive systems (with the exception of cardiac CT scans, virtual colonoscopies and dental CT scans). We also carry out angiographic examinations.
During the examination, the patient is supervised by a doctor, a technician and, in the case of contrast-enhanced scans, a nurse.
Free car park in front of the hospital.
We take an individual approach to each patient.
What tests do we carry out?
CT scans
- Head CT scans (including CT scans of the paranasal sinuses, CT scans of the temporal bone pyramids, CT scans of the facial skeleton and many other specialist examinations)
- CT scans of other anatomical regions, such as abdominal and pelvic CT scans, chest CT scans, high-resolution CT (HRCT) scans of the lungs, bone and joint CT scans, and spinal CT scans,
- CT angiography and many others.
MRI scans
- MRI of the spine
- Head MRI
- Abdominal MRI,
- Pelvic MRI
- Chest MRI
- MRI of the joints.
Additional coils enable precise imaging of many areas of the body.
Do we carry out tests on children?
Computed Tomography (CT) – no,
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) – yes – from the age of 10,
Notes:
For the scan to be carried out, the child must be able to lie still and remain motionless for the entire duration of the procedure. The scan is performed without general anaesthesia – this type of anaesthesia may only be administered by an anaesthesia team. The decision to administer a contrast agent is made by the radiologist on a case-by-case basis.
