Teleradiology
Teleradiology is a working method that involves transmitting images obtained from radiological examinations for the purpose of interpreting or consulting on them at a location other than where the examinations were carried out.
This has been made possible by the widespread adoption of digital technologies, IT systems and the ability to transmit data via the public internet in the field of diagnostic imaging.
Teleradiology is now a widely used tool in diagnostic imaging. Its usefulness in day-to-day clinical practice no longer needs to be demonstrated; what is important, however, is to use this tool to the best of our ability whilst maintaining high quality standards.
In the solutions we use, test results – regardless of their type or the device on which they were performed – are transmitted via a secure internet connection (VPN) between the centre carrying out the test and the centre interpreting the results.
