Radiopharmaceuticals
The new cyclotron in Katowice – a key stage in the Voxel Group’s development strategy. We are increasing our production capacity and ensuring a reliable supply.
Our medicinal products
V-PET (18F-fludeoksyglukoza (FDG))
A basic PET radiopharmaceutical with a wide range of applications, including in oncology and inflammatory diseases. Around 90 per cent of PET/CT scans in Poland are carried out using FDG.
FCH (18F-fluorocholina)
A PET radiopharmaceutical used for imaging organ function or diseases in which the diagnostic marker is increased choline uptake.
V-NaF (18F-fluorek sodu)
A PET radiopharmaceutical used in conditions where the diagnostic feature of interest is areas of abnormal bone formation.
V-Ga68 (68Ga-galu chlorek)
A radiopharmaceutical precursor, used exclusively for the preparation of radiopharmaceutical kits intended for radiolabelling with the 68Ga isotope.
Katowice Cyclotron
Construction of the cyclotron in Katowice began in 2025. Full production capacity is scheduled to be achieved in the fourth quarter of 2026, whilst full production and clinical capacity is expected to be achieved in 2027–2028.
The new facility has been equipped with fully automated production lines and state-of-the-art testing and measurement equipment, ensuring high repeatability and complete safety of production processes. A key element of the investment is the modern quality control and microbiological laboratories, which enable, amongst other things, continuous monitoring of the production environment and the maintenance of full traceability for every product batch.
Particular emphasis has been placed on microbiological safety, energy efficiency and solutions that comply with the principles of sustainable development. The cyclotron meets high environmental and technological standards, in line with the requirements of the modern radiopharmaceutical sector.
Thanks to this investment, the Voxel Group is significantly increasing its production capacity, reducing order lead times and consolidating its position as a reliable partner in the radiopharmaceutical industry.
- The pharmaceutical production centre has a floor area of 2,505 m².
- This includes four clean-room laboratories with a total area of 144 m².
- It also includes a microbiology laboratory with a total area of 165 m².
Our technology
The Voxel Group operates three radiopharmaceutical production facilities located in Poland’s largest urban areas — Warsaw, Kraków and Katowice — which enables it to respond flexibly to market needs and ensures continuity of supply. This is of direct importance to the safety of patient treatment.
In 2024, the Voxel Group decided to build a state-of-the-art production and clinical centre in Katowice, in response to the rapid development of nuclear medicine and the growing importance of theranostics in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, particularly oncological ones.
This investment, under the Alteris brand, aims to create an integrated centre combining the production of radiopharmaceuticals with research and development activities and clinical collaboration. The centre will support the development and implementation of innovative radiopharmaceuticals used in diagnostics, as well as in a theranostic approach, enabling the personalisation of patient treatment.
Logistics and distribution
We have a fleet of emergency vehicles equipped to transport radiopharmaceuticals safely and quickly throughout Poland. Thanks to our nationwide delivery network, we ensure that medical and diagnostic centres are supplied on time, regardless of their location.
The status of emergency vehicles enables them to travel efficiently even in heavy traffic, which is crucial in the case of radiopharmaceuticals with a short half-life. Delivery time has a direct impact on the quality, efficacy and safety of the preparations used.
Our fleet meets the highest standards of safety and transport quality, guaranteeing continuity of supply, full logistical control and the reliability of our transport services.
Scientific collaboration
We work closely with the academic community, which has led to the completion of three industry-oriented PhDs. This enables us to combine academic knowledge with practical experience, developing innovative solutions and supporting the development of new technologies.
Teams
At our centre, we employ top-class specialists with excellent qualifications and many years’ experience. They are constantly improving their skills through regular training and by attending international conferences. As a medical company with many years’ experience in the fields of diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine, we have an exceptional medical and technical team. We are keen to share our experience with our partners; we understand their needs and are able to adapt to them. We guarantee not only the supply of the highest-quality products, but also support and assistance in organising and effectively conducting examinations at diagnostic centres.
