About the facility
The NZOZ MCD VOXEL Diagnostic Imaging Unit is located in the building of Specialist Hospital No. 1 in Bytom. It is equipped with a 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner and a state-of-the-art 64-slice CT scanner. The centre specialises in the diagnosis of diseases of the nervous, musculoskeletal, respiratory, digestive and genitourinary systems – including foetal MRI scans. We also carry out specialist examinations, namely endocrinological, ENT, ophthalmological and angiographic examinations, as well as CT scans of the heart (calcium score).
The Laboratory carries out follow-up tests to assess the effectiveness of treatment as part of MS and oncology treatment programmes, as well as conducting research.

Do we carry out tests on children?
Computed Tomography (CT) – no,
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) – yes – from the age of 10.
Notes:
For the scan to be carried out, the child must be able to lie still and remain motionless for the entire duration of the procedure. The scan is performed without general anaesthesia – this type of anaesthesia may only be administered by an anaesthesia team. The decision to administer a contrast agent is made by the radiologist on a case-by-case basis.

The MRI and CT Scanning Unit is located in the building of Specialist Hospital No. 1 in Bytom, at 7 Żeromskiego Street.
The entrance to the Studio is at 33 Bolesława Prusa Street.
Reception is on the ground floor of the building.
Parking spaces on the street around the hospital, which is located outside the pay-and-display zone.

Public transport routes to Voxel Studio:
