About the facility
The Silesian Hospital in Cieszyn is home to the Scanix Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit. The 1.5 Tesla GE scanner enables the diagnosis of diseases of the nervous system, the musculoskeletal system, the abdominal organs and the genitourinary system, as well as the diagnosis of cancer.
At the MR clinic in Cieszyn, we carry out free scans under a contract with the National Health Fund, commercial scans, as well as scans under contracts with other medical centres. The MR clinic works in partnership with medical centres such as Polmed and LUX MED, and we provide services to patients with health insurance through PZU, Compensa, Unimedi and Allianz. We guarantee prompt appointment times.

Do we carry out tests on children?
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) – yes – from the age of 4.
Notes:
For the scan to be carried out, the child must be able to lie still and remain motionless for the entire duration of the procedure. The scan is performed without general anaesthesia – this type of anaesthesia may only be administered by an anaesthesia team. The decision to administer a contrast agent is made by the radiologist on a case-by-case basis.

The entrance to the hospital is on Chrobrego Street; there is a car park for patients next to the building.
