About the facility
The Voxel Medical Diagnostic Centre in Opole is located on the premises of the Opole Oncology Centre in Opole. It is the first and only centre providing highly specialised diagnostic imaging services in the Opole Voivodeship. Positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) scans are most commonly used in the diagnosis of cancer, enabling treatment planning and monitoring of treatment outcomes.
A patient is referred for a PET-CT scan on the basis of a referral from a specialist.

What tests do we carry out?
PET-CT scans
- Oncological PET-CT using the radiopharmaceutical FDG
- Oncological PET-CT using the radiopharmaceutical CHOLINA
Do we carry out tests on children?
PET-CT – yes – from 0 to 18 years of age.
Notes:
For the scan to be carried out, the child must be able to lie still and remain motionless for the entire duration of the procedure. The scan is performed without general anaesthesia – this type of anaesthesia may only be administered by an anaesthesia team. The decision to administer a contrast agent is made by the radiologist on a case-by-case basis.

By car
The Voxel building in Opole is situated on the grounds of the Opole Oncology Centre and the Provincial Hospital at 66A Katowicka Street. Paid parking is available for patients.
By bus

There is a bus stop on Katowicka Street, next to the hospital – most PKS buses stop there.

- line number 15, 30: Opole Główne railway station, 1 Maja Street – Katowicka Street – hospital
- line number 10, 25: Opole Główne railway station, 1 Maja Street – Ozimska-Katowicka Street (approximately 600 metres from the Voxel Studio)
