Gliwice Voxel - MR Clinic, Ultrasound, 2 Radiowa Street
In light of the concerns that have arisen regarding the location of our clinics in Gliwice on Radiowa Street, we would like to inform you that the CT, X-ray, ultrasound and MRI clinics all remain at their current locations. All clinics continue to see patients at their premises on Radiowa Street.
About the facility
NZOZ MCD VOXEL in Gliwice is located within the Vito-Med Hospital in Gliwice at 2 Radiowa Street. On the ground floor of the hospital, you will find:
- Magnetic Resonance (MR) Unit
- Ultrasound (USG) Unit.
The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit was launched in November 2018. It is equipped with a state-of-the-art, high-field SIGNA™ Explorer scanner from GE Healthcare, enabling diagnostic examinations of the nervous, musculoskeletal, respiratory, genitourinary and digestive systems, as well as the vascular system. Our MRI scanner offers a whole new level of patient comfort thanks to automatic coil selection and innovative applications designed to minimise scan duration and improve image quality. Scans are carried out in accordance with safety procedures and high standards of hygiene.
All examinations carried out at our centre are interpreted by specialist doctors with extensive experience in radiology and diagnostic imaging.
The ultrasound suite is equipped with a SAMSUNG HS60 scanner. We mainly carry out abdominal and soft tissue (thyroid, neck) ultrasound scans. A referral is not required for an ultrasound scan, although it is helpful if the patient has one.
An ultrasound scan is a safe, painless and non-invasive method for assessing the condition, size and any abnormalities in the functioning of individual organs.
The examinations are carried out by Dr Bratysława Marciak, a specialist in radiology.
A report on the ultrasound scan, together with the images, is issued immediately after the scan has been carried out.
The following preparation is required for an abdominal/pelvic ultrasound scan:
– The test is carried out on an empty stomach or 6 hours after a light meal
– On the day of the examination, please refrain from drinking coffee, smoking cigarettes and chewing gum
-Two hours before the examination, you should drink still water to fill your bladder (a full bladder allows for a more accurate diagnosis)
Ultrasound scans of the neck, thyroid and salivary glands do not require any prior preparation.
