To carry out development work aimed at implementing innovative technology for a new range of radiopharmaceuticals

Celem projektu jest opracowanie technologii wytwarzania oraz przygotowanie do wdrożenia nowego produktu oferowanego przez Voxel S.A., a mianowicie izotopu galu Ga-68  w cyklotronie medycznym jako prekursora radiofarmacutyków.

Ga-68-labelled radiopharmaceuticals are used in the diagnosis of prostate cancer, neuroendocrine tumours and other oncological conditions. The implementation of the project will enable Voxel to commence production of the Ga-68 radiolabelled tracer and to offer fusion biopsy diagnostics for patients with suspected prostate cancer. The applicant also anticipates that this biopsy will become feasible at an earlier stage, with lower PSA levels. The implementation of the fusion biopsy procedure in the diagnosis of prostate cancer is crucial, as prostate cancer is one of the main oncological conditions affecting men, particularly those over the age of 60, and one of the leading causes of mortality. The project involves development work related to the construction of a pilot production line and the preparation of results for implementation – a new range of Ga-68-labelled radiopharmaceuticals. In recent years, the demand for examinations using Ga-68-labelled tracers has increased significantly. According to the European Association of Urologists, ⁶⁸Ga-PSMAPET-MRI or ⁶⁸Ga-PSMAPET-CT is currently the most sensitive and accurate diagnostic method, with very high potential. The implementation of the project’s results will position Voxel S.A. at the forefront of centres specialising in prostate cancer diagnostics.
