Qualification

Before treatment with the Gamma Knife®

Assessment for radiosurgery using the Gamma Knife method takes place at the Neurosurgery Clinic in Katowice, at 35 Ceglana Street – either in person or via a teleconsultation.

Booking a consultation

At the teleport

If you choose TELECONSULTATION as your preferred method of consultation, please:

  • submission of medical records
    • by post or courier – CDs containing the results of MRI scans, or CT scans where applicable, information sheets on hospital or outpatient treatment, etc. 
    • by email – the contents of CDs containing MRI scan results, or CT scan results where applicable, in DICOM format, as well as scans of reports, information sheets relating to hospital or outpatient treatment, etc.
  • to complete and enclose the signed authorisation and consent form with the medical records being sent [download here]
  • Please attach proof of payment for the consultation (180.00 zł).

During the initial consultation, a specialist neurosurgeon analyses the case on the basis of the patient’s medical history and the medical records provided by the patient, and decides on the feasibility and appropriateness of Gamma Knife treatment. In some cases, the final decision on Gamma Knife treatment is made following consultation between the neurosurgeon, a radiotherapist and a radiologist. If there are any further concerns, the patient is referred for additional tests.

Follow-up appointments after Gamma Knife treatment can take place in person or via teleconsultation.

Booking a follow-up appointment is done:

Once you have booked a consultation, you must provide the CD containing the follow-up MRI scan, carried out in accordance with the instructions given on the information sheet. 

The disc containing the description can be delivered:

  • personally
  • by post or courier – a CD together with the test report –

Teleportation

If you choose TELECONSULTATION as your preferred method of consultation, please:
